Unknown gunmen on Monday night stormed Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos and attacked students of Theatre Arts department who were said to be doing their production assignment.
And the attackers also made away with the students laptops, and other personal effects while some of the girls were raped in the process.
It was learnt that the attackers shot in the air several times to scare people away before they engaged in the unfortunate operation.
The student said that she particularly sympathized with the girls who were raped, saying that it was a most traumatic experience any girl could go through. She called on the school authorities to boost security around the school premises at night, adding that the management should also take the effected girls for check up and other forms of rehabilitation.
The school Public Relations Officer, John Agam, said he is waiting for briefing from the school security outfit before making any comment on the situation.
